PHOTOS : GHOST SCHOOL

Derelict buildings never get old.  All my favorite playgrounds have been inside the ruins of old schools.
Fading into squalor so that twenty years later I can run amok : that is what schools are for!
  { yay immaturity! }

At the end of April, PJ and I quested to Woodstock, New York, where my brilliant cousins Ariana & P live.
They are pretty much The Wussup in every sense, and took us one day to a run-down Catholic school nearby..
 { yay adventure ! }

it. was. reallyrilly cool. the proof is in the pudding(pictures) :

{ Read More! pitchers from BUILDING #2 after the jump, y'all! }
{ p.s. I am so obsessed with the skeleton staircase outside BUILDING #2 }

{ them doilies behind some of the pictures are from another Pugly Pixel download, Paper Buffet }

JUST the kind of cards i would want to give people. awesome.

Elum

Elum have always had a knack for having super classy style but not coming off as boring or stuffy. their designs are always colorful and fun and they obviously really know how to make the most of letterpress. tons of different textures.

Sugar Paper

NEW IN THE SHOP!

today i introduce you to a new series of BREAD OF MANY note cards called : FRIENDSIES !
aptly titled as lately i've been turning to my insanely wonderful friends for inspiration and ideas that could translate in interesting ways to stationery...

the first of the FRIENDSIES series was technically my RECKLESS PUMPKIN note set, which i made by copying a photograph of my bandmate and pal PJ, although i designed it before i had plans for a collection...

{ this is a PJ }

i think the photograph was from hallowe'en one year, but i might also think that just because PJ is pictured wearing a mask...

*****

the first intentional FRIENDSIES installment was the NOUX'S POLYGRAPH note set, which was actually the first thing i was able to make after enduring a horribly long period of creative stagnancy... i ended up asking my deer dear Nour for help, and had her imagine what her ideal stationery would look like...
(it was nice of her to feign having ideal stationery. i dont even think i have ideal stationery... well, actually maybe i do...)

{ this is a Nour }

she had a really rich and exciting response which was actually full of ideas, but included the notion of polygraph stationery...

thank you, Nourex! also, since i'm still riding the excitement-coattails of my own wedding, i'd like to mention that Nour, who was one of my bridesmaids, custom made my veil for me, which was so much better than having to shop around for one and stress about it.. she worked with me on it and it was so so BEAUTIFUL

*****

today i made another in the FRIENDSIES series with a set of note cards dedicated to another chum of mine: Lauren!

{ this is a Lauren }

A Lauren is such a darling, in fact, that she was able to be a helpful helpful bridesmaid AND play autoharp/banjo during my wedding ceremony even though it was also her very own birthday! and she succumbed to my selfish party happily! what a doll! (we did get everyone to sing happy birthday and give her a toast during dinner...)

*SO ANYHOW*

a couple of years ago The Lauren took an awesome series of photographs where miniature animals were placed in adorable "natural" settings. she gave me some prints which are to this day some of the cutest things i've ever seen.. today i was looking at my favorite one : (excuse the poor photograph of photograph...)

A HIPPO SHOUTING AT A DANDELION !!!!!!! YES !!! oh man, that never ever gets old !

and thus, the LITTLE LOLO note set was born.

check it out in my shop!

this FRIENDSIES series is making me really eager to make! make! make! luckily i have a lot of great friends to skim fascinating stuff off of... i'll keep you posted!

i want to incorporate the ambiance (or whatever) of this into some new stationery, i can't stop brainstorming

i think i especially like that stack of dishes. really
